Duddingston Loch - Edinburgh

Duddingston Loch is the only natural loch in Edinburgh and is located in the grounds of Holyrood Park below Arthur's Seat and part of the loch is a nature reserve.

The loch is an important reserve for wildfowl, herons and the great crested grebe. In the loch carp, roach, perch and pike populate the loch.

In the late 1770's a hoard of Late Bronze Age weapons was dredged from the loch and now in the National Museum of Scotland.
