Ducklington - Church of St Bartholomew
Church St, Ducklington OX29 7UF, England
URPoint Details
St Bartholomew's Church dates from the 11th century with the north aisle the most interesting architectural feature of the church. It is of the late Decorated period, compares with the aisle in Cogges church, and is probably from the same hand. In front of the font is the original Tudor period elm chest.
The Tower is late 15th century and houses a clock which is 300 years old but still works efficiently.
The benefice includes the parish of Harwick, whose tiny church of St Mary is in the grounds of Cokethorpe School, but is open to visitors.
