Lying between Wickford and Billericay the small village is a pleasing mix of period cottages and farmhouses. Clustered together is the village pond, and the small roadside garden to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee.
The old pump which once supplied the whole village stands on the hill, below the inn, and has been restored to full working order.
