Disabled parking within castle, 100m from keep disabled visitors may use Palace Green car park next to keep to avoid steep path from Constable's Tower and cobbled drawbridge. Castle and grounds are mainly accessible, including keepyard, although there are some steep slopes requiring assistance. Ambulant disabled visitors may find access to the keep difficult due to long flight of spiral stairs. Hellfire Corner has good access for wheelchair users but entry is down a steep slope wheelchair routes and guides available. The Castle is dramatically located on the white cliffs overlooking the English Channel. Man and nature have combined to make this one of Western Europe's most impressive medieval fortresses. Its history is alive with reminders of a glorious past from the Iron Age to World war II.
