URPoint Details
In the 1830\'s a chalybeate spring was discovered at Dorton. There were high hopes that the village might become a spa town and a pump room was built. The project, however, failed largely due to Dorton\'s rather isolated situation two miles east of Brill. The Jacobean mansion Dorton House is open and worth a visit, as is the little church with its weatherboarded bell turret, dating back to the 13th century.
