URPoint Details
Between Aylesbury and Thame, the village lies just off the busy main road. Cromwell is said to have come here after the Battle of Naseby.
At that time Dinton Hall was the home of Simon Mayne, who signed Charles I's death warrant, and, as a result was sent to the Tower of London when the Restoration came.
Dinton Hall is a large rambling house that dates back to 1500 or even earlier.
North of the Hall is Dinton Castle, a folly built in 1769 by Sir John Vanhatten.
