The village sits on the Loch Diabaig, an inlet of Loch Torridon on the Wester Ross coast. The road to the village passes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. It skirts the foothills of the red sandstone topped with white quartz Ben Alligin at 3,232ft and passes through ‘Bealach na Gaoithe’ (The Pass of the Wind).
