URPoint Details
A small parish adjacent to Stilton and on the edge of the fens, this one unites two small villages little more than half-a-mile apart.
Denton was the birthplace of the noted scholar Sir Robert Cotton but the building has now gone and the 17th century village church is also a ruin.
Caldecote, a largely-restored 13th century church, now converted to a private residence, and to the north is the site of another of this area's 'vanished villages' - Washingley.
