Once an important coaching town in the 18th century for it lies on four main roads and has been a market town since 1255. An ancient town, whose major industry in the 18th century was whip-making. There are some pleasant Georgian houses, and a Stone Age Fort and Roman excavations just outside the market town of Daventry.
The United Reformed Church dates from 1722, this is the oldest building in Daventry used for continuous worship. Location: on the A45, 13m west of Northampton
