URPoint Details
Close to the village in the Eske valley is Danby Lodge a former shooting lodge and now the visitor centre for the North Yorks Moors National Park.
The village is also called Dale End as it lies at the head of Danby Dale which runs south into the moors.
The ruins of Danby Castle have had a farmhouse added to them and are now used as farm buildings.
Close to the castle is Duck Bridge, a packhorse bridge over the River Esk and dates from 1386.
There are many obscure circles and stones in the area which are remnants of the Bronze and Iron Ages.
