URPoint Details

A village at the head of Glen Truim and at the western end of the Forest of Atholl, the name comes from Gaelic ‘dell of the meeting place’.

It was here that highland chiefs and lowland barons met and often fought to the death.

To the west on the edge of Badenoch stretches the lonely Loch Ericht, 15 miles long, where at the west rises the remote peak of Ben Alder rising to 3,757ft and facing it across the loch is Beinn Udlama at 3,306ft.
