URPoint Details
A charming and peaceful village, with a stream flowing down one side of the half-mile long main street with brick, colour-washed and timber-framed cottages.
The Church of the Holy Rood has an early Norman tower which rises little higher than the nave. The typical round-arched doorway stands in the shade of a yew tree. Inside is an interesting old brass commemorating J Gregory, who died in 1506, his two wives, and six children.
In the ancient thatched village pub, the Half Moon is a copy of its original licence dated 1647.
