Cromford Sough, from Cromford school at the end of North street it is a short walk, over a stile, on the left of the school, to the Sough.
This was a drain to remove water from the surrounding lead mines. This water was also harnessed by Arkwright to help power his mills.
Sir Richard Arkwright's Cromford Mill. Progressive restoration of world's first successful water powered cotton-spinning mill built by Richard Arkwright in 1771.
