Crewe market is a statutory market, established by the Crewe Local Board. It is believed to have been operating since 1848 when a cheese and cattle market was formed in Coppenhall Terrace, eventually becoming known as \'Market Square\'. The present market hall was built in 1854 and purchased by the Council in 1869
