A pleasant fishing village famous for its oak-smoked kippers and where long ago Whinstone, a very hard basaltic rock was shipped from the village.
The tiny harbour was built in 1906 by the Craster family in memory of a brother killed in Tibet on active service.
Craster Tower, the home of the Craster family since the mid-12th century. It has a tower, dating from 1400 and a Georgian wing.
