An attractive village of old houses on Kent Water, including the lovely Crippenden, Waystrode Manor, Scarlett Mill and Bazing Farm.
The church is well known for the 14th century timbering of its tower. The tower and spire are both shingled. The pulpit dates from 1628 and three tongues protrude from the ancient font.
