Disabled car parking some distance from house, several designated spaces at end of car park nearest house disabled visitors may be driven to and collected from house and mill access to house via loose gravel drive and cobbled courtyard ramp available for steps only Hall and kitchen accessible by wheelchair some rooms are small many steps. Most of the garden is unsuitable as its very steep Braille guides to house, garden and mill, scented roses and other plants room stewards will indicate items and surfaces that may be touched. WC close to car park restaurant & shop via ramp at rear on request, thick handled cutlery available tearoom on quay. Woodland walks to Mill and Chapel accessible. Wheelchair users need strong companions as garden on different levels and access often steeply sloped or by steps loose gravel paths the valley garden is not accessible to wheelchair users.
The number of visitors to this small and fragile house has to be limited to no more than 600 per day. Please arrive in good time and be prepared to wait to gain entry. There is no electric light in the rooms visitors should avoid dull days early and late in the season.
