URPoint Details
One of the most delightful and unusual buildings in North Wales. A rare, little-altered example of a 17th century private chapel, it was built in 1637 for the staunchly Royalist Colonel William Salusbury.
Local artists and carvers were given free rein with its wonderfully rich interior. The angel-bedecked roof, is elaborately painted from end to end, and exuberant carving everywhere embellishes the woodwork, with fantastic beasts romping along the bench ends.
