URPoint Details
A resort on the River Earn where it meets Glen Artney to the southwest and Glen Lednock to the north and is an ideal base for climbers and walkers.
The town sits on the Highland Boundary Fault, a 20,000ft deep earth fracture which divides the Lowlands and the Highlands.
Movement along the fault line causes earth tremors in the town, usually only enough to rattle windows, but in 1839 one sever tremor cracked walls of houses.
Comrie - comar (means confluence)
