When the railway line to Holyhead was built, Colwyn Bay became as it is today a lovely town skirting the bay, with safe sandy beaches.
A 2 mile walk up the Nant-y-Glyn Valley leads to Christ Church, known as The Cathedral on the Hill at Bryn-y-Maen and offers great views of the district.
