URPoint Details
A small town where for centuries warring Scots and English armies crossed the River Tweed and each year a procession from Coldstream visits Flodden Battlefield where the Scots were defeated in 1513.
The town is famous for the founding of the famous Coldstream Guards in 1650 by General Monk.
John Smeaton in 1776 completed the present five-arched bridge.
