URPoint Details
St John the Baptist, is a Norman church built in 1138, has a splendid example of a Norman Chapel arch. The font and piscina also are early Norman examples. The porch, however, is early Victorian whist the transept and side chapels are 20th century. The stained glass is definitely worth seeing as the elaborate and interesting designs include King Herods dancing girl, Salome who asked for John the Baptist's head on a plate.
A ramp at the main entrance, is provided for easy access.
