Narrow lanes lead into the village sheltered by the steep western slope of Brown Clee Hill. The name ‘Clee’ is derived from the Old English for clay. The hill is the highest in the county reaching 1,772ft.
The Norman Church of St Margaret still retains the original Norman doorway only 6ft high, and Norma herring-bone masonry in the outer east end walls.
Nordy Bank are impressive earthworks about 1,000ft below Clee Burf.
