The river Gipping runs through the village where horse drawn barges once used to go through the locks near the little humped back bridge.
The ‘Crown’, has a restaurant, good bar meals, garden and play equipment for children.
Horse drawn barges travelled from Ipswich to Stowmarket passing through a series of locks, one was in Claydon near a humpback bridge to allow the horses to pass underneath.
