Clare - Swan Inn, (HE)

The Swan Inn in the High Street has a wooden sign outside possibly the oldest in England and is a solid carving 10ft long.
Believed to have originated from the castle it shows the arms of England and France, probably commemorating the marriage of two ancient Clare families.
Good home cooked meals in a pleasant, warm and cosy pub are reasonably priced.
