The road from Dalmally along the shores of Loch Awe divides into two with the westerly fork continuing along the loch side and the southerly fork climbs over the hills with fine views of Ben Cruachan rising to 3,689ft to the north.
The descent towards Inverarary is through the lovely Glen Aray.
