URPoint Details
The River Trent maybe 40 odd miles from the Humber as it flows through this charming little village, but it is still tidal and is used occasionally by barges.
The fine old church has an 11th century doorway and from its 13th century towers views extend as far as Lincoln Cathedral.
At Torksey Lock just north the Trent is joined by the Fossdyke Navigation Canal, the oldest canal in Britain excavated by the Romans to link the Trent with the River Witham at Lincoln.
