URPoint Details
There is a labyrinth of caves and tunnels, about 15 miles in length, their origin somewhat of a mystery. They made excellent air raid shelters in the Second World War, accommodating about 15,000 people. Today, they provide conducted tours by guide daily throughout the year.
Campden Place on the nearby golf course was the last home of Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie of France once lived.
