URPoint Details
Not only does this village have a romantic castle but is surrounded by mountain, river and woodland and sits at the eastern end of the Vale of Ceiriog on the banks of that river a tributary of the Dee.
A short footpath leads west from the town to the stone arched aqueduct built by Thomas Telford between 1796 and 1801.
Its 10 great arches carry the Shropshire Union Canal high over the Ceiriog valley.
Alongside runs the railway viaduct built in 1848.
