Chiltern Open Air Museum - Chalfont St Giles

Open April to October, Wednesday to Sunday 2pm-6pm, and Tuesdays in August. Admission charge. The Museum have made lots of changes recently to make it as accessible as possible. Where possible their are ramps into the buildings. Disabled visitors have designated spaces close to the Museum entrance with accessible toilets.
Where can you enjoy a look inside a 1940's prefab, pay a call at an Edwardian Public Convenience, visit a Victorian farmyard, walk beside medieval meadows or explore an Iron Age House.
The Church of St Giles is very much a family church. Built of flint, part of it is from the 12th century. The doorway of the medieval church is decorated with 600 year old ball flowers and the interior has 14th century paintings and 15th century angels on the roof. The tower was built in the 15th century. In the churchyard lies Bertram Mills who will always be remembered for his circuses.
