Chenies Manor House (off the A404 between Rickmansworth and Amersham)
Open April to September on Wednesday, Thursday and Bank Holiday Mondays, 2pm-5pm.
A fine Tudor Mansion, home to the Earls and later the Dukes of Bedford, Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were often entertained here. The gardens are Tudor in origin and feature an unusual Physic Garden.
