The village sits at the foot of the famous Cheddar Gorge in the Mendips where caves including Cox’s and Gough’s have both stalactites and Stalagmites.
The famous Cheese long made in the district has been copied by other dairy farming countries throughout the world.
The interesting church is Perpendicular and has a characteristic Somerset tower.
