Home of the Lucy family since 1247.
The present house was built in the 1550s and later visited by Queen Elizabeth I. Rich Victorian 'romantic' interiors were created from the 1820's onwards, and contain important objects from William Beckford's Fonthill Abbey.

The house lies at the centre of a wooded park and dates from the mid 16th century although it was substantially remodeled in the Elizabethan Revival style in the early 19th century.

The balustraded formal garden also dates from this time and features clipped yews and terraces with urns planted with geraniums and lobelia. A 19th century orangery and a rustic thatched summerhouse stand by the Cedar Lawn. Shakespeare is said to have poached deer in Charlecote Park and a border close
