Ceres (seer-iss)
An attractive village, with a green surrounded by old cottages and the medieval hump-back Bishop’s Bridge.
The church above the village contains the tombs of the Earls of Crawford. On a wall in the village is a 16th century carving of a jovial looking man holding a jug he was the last Provost of Ceres appointed in 1578.
