Castle Hedingham Church of St Nicholas is mostly Norman, built in the late 1100's with a tower being added in the 16th century. The church is Norman in style with fine arcades and a magnificent south door. The tower was rebuilt in the 16th century and was renovated in 1616.
In the churchyard is the War Memorial, a re-erected 12th century cross. There is a particularly impressive monument to the 15th Earl of Oxford who died in 1539 and his wife.
