URPoint Details
One of the most photographed villages in the country, from the wooded hills is dramatic.
Once a wealthy weaving centre, Weaver’s House is where the villagers would take their woven cloth stands by the slowly meandering Bybrook River.
The cottages are a charming colour and cluster around the stone-canopied market cross and the manor house (now a hotel) dates from 1664.
There are still a few traces of the original castle built by Walter de Dunstanville, his 13th century effigy lies in the parish church.
