URPoint Details
A village in Nithsdale where the Carron Water meets the River Nith.
From here the road heads northeast to the picturesque and winding Dalveen Pass the summit of which stands at 1,140ft, near the Lanark border above which rises Comb Head at 1,998ft.
West of the village, across the Nith are the scanty remains of Tibbers Castle and to the northeast is the ruined 15th century Morton Castle in a glen overlooking Morton Loch.
