Situated at the western end of Glencoe on Loch Leven at the point of the picturesque road circling Loch Leven to North Ballachulish.
Across the glen rises the conical peak of the Pap of Glencoe rising to 2,430ft being an outlier of the long ridge of Aonach Eagach with its 3,000ft summits facing Bidean nam Bian at 3,766ft.
