URPoint Details
On the banks of one of the lovliest rivers in Wales is the Teifi, once the headquarters of Welsh princes.
Perhaps the most outstanding architectural feature is the fine medieval 7-arched bridge over the Teifi. Old warehouses by the river are a reminder of the former importance as a port, which flourished on the trade supplied by Cardiganshire's lead mines
Cardigan is well known for it fine salmon and sea-trout fishing in the Teifi, one of the prettiest rivers in Wales.
The castle built in the 12th century is privately owned.
