An old market town sheltered in a valley, with a charming inn the Lansdowne Arms which stands on the site of a Middle Ages and the original brew-house is still in the yard.
The old almshouses in Kingsbury Street look across to the parish church which has impressive nave arcades dating from 1160.
Oldbury Camp,to the south is an ancient Iron Age camp, set high with a white horse carved in 1780 just below. There are several old public paths giving access.
