Callendar House encapsulates over 600 years of Scotland’s history from medieval times to the present times and was visited by great historical figures including Mary, Queen of Scots, Cromwell and Bonnie Prince Charlie.
They are part of ‘The Story of Callendar House’, an exhibition depicting its evolution from a 14th century keep to the beautiful building improved and extended by the 18th century copper merchant William Forbes and his descendants.
Sample dishes are prepared to authentic recipes in the unique Georgian working kitchen where costumed interpreters recreate ‘downstairs’ life in a great house of the 1820's.
