Attractive village is the birthplace of Horatio Nelson, son of the Reverend Edmund Nelson rector of Burnham Thorpe church and also Burnham Norton church.
Horatio Nelson was born on 29 September 1758, the fifth son of 11 children.
It was after his mother died when he was 12 years old that he went to sea.
All Saints Church in Burnham Thorpe has a marble font and many memorials to Nelson, and the lectern was made from the timbers of his ship the 'Victory'.
