An ancient place renown for its forest Burnham Beeches with huge pollarded beeches, glades and winding lanes and stretches over 600 acres.

A fine 13th century church mentioned in the Domesday Book, has a tower with oak-shingled spire. The great altar rails dated 1663 have five beautifully carved oak panels.

Dorney Court was built about 1500 and has been occupied by the present family for nearly 400 years. It was here that the first ever pineapple was grown in Britain and presented to Charles II in 1661.
