Burghfield

South east of the Kennet on rising ground, Burghfield extends to include the growing modern residential area of Burghfield common, a community with its own shops, schools, churches and recreation grounds. Burghfield itself is still quite small and at its eastern end is the church was built in 1843, on an older site, in a rather poor neo-Norman design. The chancel was added half a century later.
