The church of St Peter & St Paul dates back before the 11th century when the round tower was built and where there are some tiles of Roman origin. In the churchyard there is a Celtic cross dated 1897 in memory of St Fursey. No road reaches the castle and the nearest a visitor can get is by foot from the church.
