Bungay, is a market town and yachting centre on the river Waveney, with lovely Georgian houses in and around the market place of architectural significance.
In the market place stands the Butter Cross, erected in 1869 after the fire the fire of 1866 which destroyed so much of the town. The dome added in 1754 and has a fine statue of Justice.
The ‘White Lion’ pub stands in part of the old castle site.
