Situated on the peninsula of the Ross of Mull and noted for its granite, the road leads east to Fionphort.
To the south is the small island of Erraid associated with R L Stevenson’s ‘Kidnapped’ and out to sea are the Torran Rocks.
To the north is the sea loch of Na Lathaich and to the southeast is Loch Assapol.
