Steeped in history and tradition, this beautiful Scottish mansion dating back to 1621, was built by Simon Fraser, the 8th Lord Lovat whose marriage to Jean Stewart the same year is commemorated by a stone marble lintel above the fireplace in the drawing room.

The Estate of Bunchrew has traditionally belonged to the Frasers, but for a period in the late 17th and 18th centuries, when it was owned by the Forbes of Culloden.

Standing in 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens whose wall is lapped by the sea in the Beauly Firth. Magnificent views from the hotel include the Black Isle and Ben Wyvis.

Overlooking the sea is the award-winning candlelit restaurant which serves prime Scotch beef, fresh lobster, locally caught game and venison and freshly grown vegetables. The wine list has been designed to compliment the excellent menu.

Great for a relaxing break enjoying the luxury of the panelled drawing room, (with its roaring log fires in winter) or the elegance in the beautifully furnished bedrooms (both the Lovat and Cedar are romantic with fully canopied beds).
