URPoint Details
Church of St Mary the Virgin has a perpendicular West over with 18th century pinnacles, small spire and carved figures on its South wall. The late Norman South doorway is embellished with faces, flower and patterns surmounted by a rotund face, orb and Maltese Cross. Inside are Georgian box pews, benefaction boards on the West gallery and an ancient iron-bound treasure chest, Note the inscription on an oak tie-beam in the chancel 1591 Francis Winchecom Esqvier build this.
