URPoint Details
St Mary's Church, is open 8am-dusk, daily. The church has a wide, 12th century nave leading to a decorated chancel, which has a lovely timber roof with carved bosses. Most startling is the contrast between the unadorned north transept and the south transept sparkling with mosaic, with which it was decorated at the end of the 19th century. There are old pews, a Jacobean pulpit and tower gallery, and 12th century ironwork on the south door. See the triangular niche in the chancel for the heart of William Holcott, who died in 1575.
St Mary's church is a Grade I listed building.
